Transcript Ordering Information

How to order an official transcript:

Students may pick up transcripts in person at the office. Students can send transcript requests by mail, fax, or email. Students can order online with EID and password. Online orders are paid through What I Owe. Phone requests are not accepted. Online orders processed within two business days; written requests received in office processed within five business days.

Law Students:

Final Law grades post later than undergraduate and graduate grades. Before placing order, Law students should check final grade postings through Office of the Registrar, not through the School of Law.

Former Students:

If last semester enrolled is 1980 or later, former students can order online with EID. If EID is not known, students should go to UT EID Self-Service Tools to locate EID. For password resets, student can contact the ITS Help Desk at (512) 475-9400 or visit ITS website for more information.

If last semester enrolled is 1980 or earlier, transcripts are on microfilm and cannot be ordered online. To order transcripts, students should use the .pdf transcript order form.

Ordering unofficial transcripts from previous schools:

Previous school transcripts may be requested if The University has previous school transcripts on file. Previous school transcripts are unofficial and cost $10 per copy. Students may use the .pdf order form and note clearly on the request which previous school transcripts they are requesting and how many copies. Unofficial previous school transcripts cannot be ordered online or sent to a third party.

To order an unofficial transcript:

Unofficial UT-Austin transcripts can be requested for students with bars. An unofficial transcript lists all of a student's coursework but does not include the university seal, the signature of the registrar, or the name of the university. The cost is $10 per copy payable at time of request. It will be available for pickup or mail out the next business day. An unofficial transcript will be released only to the student requesting it; it cannot be released to a third party. Unofficial transcripts may be requested using the .pdf unofficial transcript order form. Unofficial transcripts cannot be ordered online.

Is there a free transcript?

Transcripts are not free; however, students may stop by the office to request an academic summary.

What is the difference between an academic summary and transcript?

Are there other options to receive transcripts?

Transcripts are sent by First Class mail, Federal Express at student's expense, picked up in person at the office or by electronic transfer only to specific schools. Transcripts cannot be faxed, converted to a .pdf, or attached to an email.

Can I expedite my transcript through a delivery service?

Requests for expedited mail are processed until 4 p.m. CST each business day. Orders received after 4 p.m . are processed the next business day. To place order for expedited delivery, submit pre-paid FedEx shipping label printed online from FedEx along with .pdf transcript request form. FedEx will not ship to P.O. boxes; all address must be a complete physical address. Requesting expedited delivery does not assure priority processing. Other delivery services may be used if you make arrangements in advance.

What is the FedEx tracking number for my transcript order?

Log onto the online order system, click Check order history (including in-office requests) to view past orders. Click More Info next to order to view receipt. Tracking numbers appear in Contact Information section at the bottom of the receipt. If unable to log into the order system or tracking number not available, contact Transcripts via email for response.
